Searching the forums for "110" resulted in a couple of posts commenting about voltage drop over cheap cables, so I tried a Nokia USB charger cable, courtesy of the wife. Success, booted OK. I tried again and it worked fine so I resized the partitions to use the whole card. RPi still worked on Monday so I put a multimeter across TP1 TP2. The Nokia cable read 4.78V. Trying the cheap cable gave 4.45V (i.e. not enough) but wierdly the RPi booted fine.
So, my advice is borrow a 'quality' cable, boot the RPi, resize the partitions and then try again with the original cable
That's not a problem anymore. I'm using wheezy and I don't get that error. Also, I'm using an HP Tablet Charger. I don't know what "quality" is supposed to be mean but it's definitely not some jenk cable.
