Pi2 Error message on startup

Thu Feb 05, 2015 4:44 pm

Help - When I boot my Pi2 into the GUI I get the following error message:

GDBUS.Error.org.Freedesktop.PolicyKit1.Error.Failed:Cannot determine user of subject

What does this mean and what do I need to do?

Please ignore the message, this causes no harm and will be addressed in a later software release. Just hit the OK button and continue.

I'm new to the world of linux, but I had the same error and found that this piece of code worked in getting rid of that message.

Code: Select all

sudo /etc/init.d/dbus restart
I'm running the latest version of Raspbian from the NOOBS installation, but I found that if I ran a safe boot into noobs to make changes/install a different os, the error message returned and I had to run the command again.

Hope this helps :)

Nah - if I remember correctly, it only happens once per boot. That restart command will not alter the image, so reloading, burn to SD card, etc was a red herring.
Hitting OK is a lot easier...
