Help with display resolution/Retropie and screen?

Tue Nov 25, 2014 9:51 pm

Question/rant 1:
Hello! I have been trying to get my RPi-Display show 320x240 resolution to no avail...It just shows windows beeing "too big" i know i can drag stuff by holding alt but that's not the point (not all windows are dragable, like the logout window where i can see just the first option). Without lying i have been at it for close to a month now. Still no luck, it seems i read every post about modifying the config.txt but nothing. I even deleted the whole config txt from the boot folder but still it booted happily still showing the resolution wrong. As you can imagine i'm getting a bit p****d of by now and i'm feeling quite stupid. Any help would be appriciated. I'm using the raspian os found here https://github.com/watterott/RPi-Display as sugested by the seller of the screen. I'm close to calling it quits, but something inside keeps naging me to keep trying. Here is my config file:

# uncomment if you get no picture on HDMI for a default "safe" mode
#hdmi_safe=1

# uncomment this if your display has a black border of unused pixels visible
# and your display can output without overscan
#disable_overscan=1

# uncomment the following to adjust overscan. Use positive numbers if console
# goes off screen, and negative if there is too much border

overscan_left=16
overscan_right=16

overscan_top=16
overscan_bottom=16

# uncomment to force a console size. By default it will be display's size minus
# overscan.
framebuffer_width=320
framebuffer_height=240

# uncomment if hdmi display is not detected and composite is being output
#hdmi_force_hotplug=1

# uncomment to force a specific HDMI mode (this will force VGA)
#hdmi_group=1
#hdmi_mode=1

# uncomment to force a HDMI mode rather than DVI. This can make audio work in
# DMT (computer monitor) modes
#hdmi_drive=2

# uncomment to increase signal to HDMI, if you have interference, blanking, or
# no display
#config_hdmi_boost=4

# uncomment for composite PAL
#sdtv_mode=2

#uncomment to overclock the arm. 700 MHz is the default.
arm_freq=800

# for more options see http://elinux.org/RPi_config.txt

Question 2:

Is there a way to get Emulationstation/Retropie to work with my screen? As my skills aren't up to par to where i could install retropie and then install the screen "drivers" and make everything work. I tryed to use the above mentioned raspian os and then adding Emulationstation but it won't work...

I'm off to cry for a bit... :)

ANYONE!?

Hi. I have the same screen and the same problem, so I testet the method from fransko but the last commands resultet in errors:

pi@raspberrypi /usr/share/X11/rpi-fbcp/build $ sudo modprobe fbtft dma
FATAL: Module fbtft not found.
pi@raspberrypi /usr/share/X11/rpi-fbcp/build $ sudo modprobe fbtft_device name=tinylcd35 rotate=90 speed=48000000 fps=50
FATAL: Module fbtft_device not found.

anyone an idea?
