Hi all,
I tried powering up my Raspberry Pi last night but the wireless keyboard in the Advanced Kit is unresponsive. Is there anything I need to do before boot up to pair the keyboard to the Pi? I had the wifi dongle connected before booting up and the keyboard was switched on for a wifi signal. I then tried connected the keyboard via USB on the second attempt without wifi dongle. The with both on another attempt. I also tried connected the keyboard to a usb hub on another attempt. Does anyone have any ideas on what to do?
Thanks,
Denis.

Which model of RPi do you have, and which Operating System have you installed?
In particular, note that you need a recent release of an Operating System and associated 'firmware' to enable the usb ports on a B+ . And having working usb ports is vital if you want to use usb-connected devices like your keyboard.
Does your keyboard really use wifi, or are you just using that as a catch-all description for some form of wireless technology? I would expect a wireless keyboard to have its own dedicated dongle, separate from the wifi one.

Curious. I'm guessing you're referring to
Maplin's Model B Advanced Kit? That does indeed seem to include a 'wireless' keyboard and a single WiFi dongle. I'd be surprised if the keyboard is WiFi, but it doesn't look to me like the dongle is a WiFi/Bluetooth or WiFi/RF hybrid.
I'd ask Maplin.

The Keyboard has it's own dedicated USB Dongle, it is likely attached to the back of the keyboard and would be shown in the keyboard user guide

That would explain things.

http://www.riitek.com/product_Info.asp?id=77 has the pictorial user's guide. Turn it upside down and the dongle is hidden in the base of the unit.

Thanks a lot for all the replies. The receiver dongle was indeed located in the wireless keyboard
