B+ starts to boot and then shows black screen

Hi there!
I'm experiencing strange issues with my raspberry pi b+. I got it hooked up to a pc monitor with an hdmi to dvi (24+1) cable and whenever I start the pi the screen shows at least a glimps of a logo screen (Noobs [rainbow screen] & OpenElec [logo]) and then goes blank. It doesn't turn off, it's just a black screen. After putting Raspbian on the sd card, it shows a few lines of text, but then also switches to a black screen.
I tried all kinds of settings in the config.txt (hdmi_mode/safe/hotplug,etc) but it doesn't seem to have an effect on the problem of the screen going black. I also tried different power supplies but nothing helps...
Any kind of assistance would be highly appreciated!
