SSH Issue

Sun Oct 05, 2014 9:36 pm

Hi guys!

I've been using a raspberry pi as a server for over a year now and I had no problems at all when accessing it via SSH using putty on windows, but now I've moved to Mac and I can't login via SSH using the terminal. I get timed out or connection refused every time I try, but if I go to my windows pc I login in 2 secs with no issues at all. Do you know what could be the problem and how to fix it?

Thanks!

Exactly what are you putting in putty and terminal?
Note;keys need to be converted

In putty I'm putting the ip and the port.

In the terminal: ssh pi@xxx.xxx.x.x

What's that about keys?

Thanks!

Check firewall settings on the MAC and make sure SSH is enabled.
Unless specified otherwise my response is based on the latest and fully updated RPiOS Buster w/ Desktop OS.

The firewall is already off and when you say ssh enabled you mean on the pi right? If that's the case it's enabled otherwise I wouldn't be able to connect using putty on my windows pc.

No - I mean SSH (ports) enabled in the MAC firewall to allow SSH connections.

Hi guys!

I figured it out! I'm so sorry, but I'm new at this. But I got the name wrong and also the port, now I can ssh with my Mac.

Thanks for your help!
