SD card no booting -- can I recover it? (solved)

Thu Sep 11, 2014 6:47 am

Hello,

I was using XBMC yesterday when I tried to download some subs. The raspi frozen and I had to reboot pulling out the cable  When it started all leds fired up and I could see the white screen with the raspberry, but after that the PWR led stayed red and the activity one blinking (5 blinks and pause, in a loop). The network leds were off.

I tried another SD card and it worked so I guess the first one got corrupted when I pull the cable. The question is: is there any way to recover the card and not having to install everything again? I tried to launch the recovery mode but it is offering me only the option of formatting it again

Any help will be much appreciated :)

Hi,

Thanks for the quick reply! No but I think I can get a reader for a few quid this evening...

I´ve bought the card reader and I´ve realised there were some missing files on the boot partition... The pattern on the led blinking helped me to figure that out.

Luckily I had another SD card where I can copy those files from.

Thanks for the help!
