NOOBS error creating extended partition

Tue Aug 26, 2014 5:22 pm

Hello,

i just got my raspberry pi and set up Raspian with NOOBS.

everything worked fine until i did a apt-get upgrade. suddendly i got a blackscreen and had to reboot.

after the reboot neither mouse nor keyboard worked. since i could not do anything i decided to set up the sd card new. so i put it in my laptop, and used this guide : http://qdosmsq.dunbar-it.co.uk/blog/201 ... pberry-pi/

everything worked fine. when i put the sd card in the RPi i get to the setup, but before i can choose a OS i get an error message:

Error creating extended partition
Checking that no-one is using this disk right now...
OK

Disk /dev/mmcblk0: 245728 cylinders, 4 heads, 16 sectors/track

/dev/mmcblk0p4 0 - 0 0 Empty

Warning: given size (0) exceeds max allowable size (4294899712)

When i close the error i get to the OS choosing screen, but there are no OS available and I can only Exit

That's odd, never seen that error message before :?

Can you use e.g. http://oss.digirati.com.br/f3/ to check that your SD card is "fully working" ?

Yes, the SD card is working, i got around the problem after a few hours. i remembered i could use gparted for the formatting, and with that it worked (i read something about someone who couldnt install NOOBS when he didnt label his sd card, so i did that aswell).

im pretty sure i just did something wrong.. thanks anyway :)
