Network freezing up? + mouse

Wed Jun 13, 2012 10:11 pm

Hi
Just got a D-link powered USB hub (6 ports)

When connecting it to raspberry PI you can run HDD, keyboard, USB pen drive and other things fine from it

As soon as you connect a mouse to the hub or to the board the raspberry Pi network connection just dies and can't browse the network at all.

Everything else is fine and the pi doesn't slow down it's just network card

any ideas?

A good starting point would be to get yourself up-to-date.

Code: Select all

sudo apt-get install update
sudo apt-get install upgrade
Then the instructions on

There are quite a few threads about rpi-update, which updates the firmware. I had an issue with a freezing mouse and keyboard after I moved the file system to a memory stick. The various upgrades eventually sorted out the problem.

You may be running into a bug with the USB on the Pi. See https://github.com/raspberrypi/linux/issues/29.

Can you try a different powered hub?

Does the network connection die only in X/LXDE or does it die in the console as well?

Were all 3 mice Logitech mice?
