log file error

Thu Jul 24, 2014 3:17 am

When i type "start x", I get a blank screen with a cursor and I get the error in my log file "EE fbidev(0) fbioblank: operation not permitted". How should I fix this? Also, what does this error mean?
P.S. Sorry for the repeat post, but this is a new error.

A quick google of that error bring up a few links. This (http://raspberrypi.stackexchange.com/qu ... starting-x) appears to be related. Are you accessing your Raspberry Pi via SSH or are you logging in via a keyboard (and mouse) attached to the Raspberry Pi? You need to use startx with a keyboard and mouse attached to the Raspberry Pi. If you are logging in via SSH, perhaps if you tell us what you are trying achieve.

Also have a look here. Is there any information in /var/log/Xorg.0.log?
