FTDI device not recognised by raspberry pi

Mon May 26, 2014 1:58 pm

Hello ,
I am trying to use an FTDI device with my raspberry pi
I used the FTDI library from the website ( ... Fix.tar.gz ) , compiled with hard float.

I followed the instructions on the application note ( ... rry_Pi.pdf)

Everthing installed fine and after I connect my FTDI device , I did

Code: Select all

sudo rmmod ftdi_sio
sudo rmmod usbserial

when I ran the examle from the libraries "EEPROM/read" , I alwayas have the same results

Code: Select all

Library version = 0x10112
Opening port 0
FT_Open(0) failed
but when i do screen /dev/ttyUSB0 command , i could see the values being printed on the screen

following are some infromation which i think might be helpful :

1) I created a udev rule for my device as well

Code: Select all

ATTRS{idVendor}==”0403″, ATTRS{idProduct}==”1234″, Group=="dialout" , Mode=="0666"
2) this is my dmesg results

Code: Select all

[ 11.949745] ftdi_sio 1-1.3:1.0: FTDI USB Serial Device converter detected
[ 11.962275] usb 1-1.3: Detected FT232BM
[ 11.968859] usb 1-1.3: Number of endpoints 2
[ 11.975766] usb 1-1.3: Endpoint 1 MaxPacketSize 64
[ 11.983126] usb 1-1.3: Endpoint 2 MaxPacketSize 64
[ 11.990346] usb 1-1.3: Setting MaxPacketSize 64
[ 12.004984] usb 1-1.3: FTDI USB Serial Device converter now attached to ttyUSB0
3) uname

Linux myrasPi 3.10.25+ #622 PREEMPT Fri Jan 3 18:41:00 GMT 2014 armv6l GNU/Linux

could any one help me solve this problem.
thanks in advance

How do you know? Have you taken your TARDIS back three years and got this failing on an old RPi 1B running on a 3.10 kernel?

Start a new thread, post some details of what you're doing, what happens, how it fails, how you know it's failed and stop bumping ancient threads from ancient history that are clearly not your "me too" problem.
