Hi,

What peripherals are connected to the RasPi ?

Best wishes, Ivan Zilic.
Running out of GPIO pins and/or need to read analog values?

The chips will often feel hot to the touch. That is quite normal and normally nothing to worry about.

What temperature does the system report when you do

Code: Select all

vcgencmd measure_temp
as long as that is under 85°C the CPU/GPU is within acceptable temperature range.

The shutting down thing is a bit worrying. The first things I would check are the power supply (measure the voltage between TP1 and TP2), and, as Ivan said, any peripherals that are connected to the USB or GPIOs

Hi the only things are a mouse & keyboard, ( not WIFI) power is what came with it as it was a package deal.
The temp if i did it right (went to XBMC system info ) is 128F to 131F

That's around 54°C which I'd say was perfectly normal when idling in XBMC.
Pi2B Mini-PC/Media Centre: ARM=1GHz (+3), Core=500MHz, v3d=500MHz, h264=333MHz, RAM=DDR2-1200 (+6/+4/+4+schmoo). Sandisk Ultra HC-I 32GB microSD card on '50=100' OCed slot (42MB/s read) running Raspbian/KODI16, Seagate 3.5" 1.5TB HDD mass storage.

When you convert those temps back to a sensible international temperature unit they aren't outside a normal range (53.3 to 55). [I've yet to work out why the US of A sticks with non-SI units. I can see why we don't use SI units for normal ambient values.]

I checked both of my RPis. Pi is running at 45.4°C, raspberry is running at 44.5°C.
