Raspberry keeps crashing

Mon Apr 14, 2014 8:45 pm

Hi,

Setup:
Raspberry Pi Model B running raspbmc (latest version).

My RPI keeps crashing when watching videos.
Sometimes its possible to watch a movie from beginning to end (even 19gb mkv) without any problems but sometimes it crashes every 20-30 minutes.

Already installed a fresh raspbmc distribution and checked the power supply..
Please let me know if you need other logs!

Have you overclocked the Pi?

Just to clarify, when you say 'checked the power supply', do you mean you measured the voltage?

What audio device do you have connected? Is it in a powered hub?

You're also a long way behind the current 3.10.36+ kernel so you may want to use rpi-update to get current.

Yes, but on "fast" setting on raspbmc.
Problem occurs even without overclocking.

Yes, thats what I meant.

Only audio output device is HDMI.
Okay thank you, I will update the FW later.

Just to clarify the "checked the power supply" part. How did you check it? Did you measure between the two test points with the Pi playing Full-HD video? Was it always above 4.75V?
Pi2B Mini-PC/Media Centre: ARM=1GHz (+3), Core=500MHz, v3d=500MHz, h264=333MHz, RAM=DDR2-1200 (+6/+4/+4+schmoo). Sandisk Ultra HC-I 32GB microSD card on '50=100' OCed slot (42MB/s read) running Raspbian/KODI16, Seagate 3.5" 1.5TB HDD mass storage.

Yes, thats what I did.

I also read about measuring the fuse, but I had some difficulties with my multimeter so I skipped that part (afaik a broken fuse would cause other problems than mine).

Im running Raspbmc and its suggested not to patch the kernel manually.

And others suggestions?
