No signal with DVI Adaptor

Wed Apr 02, 2014 3:33 pm

Hi, I need help to connect my raspberry pi to my monitor via an adapter that is now 3H I trials to have any signal but in vain all that I have the right:

Check Cable> No signal> Communication standby

On a screen philips 1920x1080 60Hz

I tried every combination with unimaginable hdmi_mode / hdmi_group
I put hdmi_drive 1 (I precise I do not need her)

PS: I just tried on a Samsung screen works perfectly remains only to find a philips

I hope to find help.

thank you

Already test

My config:

# uncomment if you get no picture on HDMI for a default "safe" mode
#hmdi_safe=1

# uncomment this if your display has a black border of unused pixels visible
# and your display can output without overscan
disable_overscan=1

# uncomment the following to adjust overscan. Use positive numbers if console
# goes off screen, and negative if there is too much border
#overscan_left=16
#overscan_right=16
#overscan_top=16
#overscan_bottom=16

# uncomment to force a console size. By default it will be display's size minus
# overscan.
#framebuffer_width=1280
#framebuffer_height=720

# uncomment if hdmi display is not detected and composite is being output
#hdmi_force_hotplug=1

# uncomment to force a specific HDMI mode (this will force VGA)
hdmi_group=2
hdmi_mode=16

# uncomment to force a HDMI mode rather than DVI. This can make audio work in
# DMT (computer monitor) modes
hdmi_drive=1

# uncomment to increase signal to HDMI, if you have interference, blanking, or
# no display
#config_hdmi_boost=4

# uncomment for composite PAL
#sdtv_mode=2

#uncomment to overclock the arm. 700 MHz is the default.
arm_freq=700

# for more options see http://elinux.org/RPi_config.txt
core_freq=250
sdram_freq=400
over_voltage=0

From my notes here:
http://www.cpmspectrepi.webspace.virgin ... _VGA_Input ("3-port HDMI Switch --> HDMI to VGA Converter --> Basic VGA Switch --> TV's VGA Input" section)
the above settings (should) force a "VGA-like" 1024 x 768 @60Hz DMT mode which may be not what you want/need.
What happens if you (re-)comment out or remove those lines?

Still running Raspbian Jessie or Stretch on some older Pi's (an A, B1, 2xB2, B+, P2B, 3xP0, P0W, 2xP3A+, P3B+, P3B, B+, and a A+) but Buster on the P4B's. See: https://www.cpmspectrepi.uk/raspberry_pi/raspiidx.htm

RaTTuS says that he has to force HDMI with the same adapter, so maybe try adding...

Code: Select all

hdmi_drive=2
...to your exisiting commands?
Pi2B Mini-PC/Media Centre: ARM=1GHz (+3), Core=500MHz, v3d=500MHz, h264=333MHz, RAM=DDR2-1200 (+6/+4/+4+schmoo). Sandisk Ultra HC-I 32GB microSD card on '50=100' OCed slot (42MB/s read) running Raspbian/KODI16, Seagate 3.5" 1.5TB HDD mass storage.

Slight misunderstanding here perhaps? I meant comment out (or remove) those lines so that the Pi is not "forced" to use/try 1024 x 768 @60Hz (which may not be O.K. for your monitor). One thing that appears to be absent from your config.txt is hdmi_force_hotplug=1 which will ensure that HDMI is in use (rather than composite video) if your cable/monitor is not passing through/providing the expected "hotplug" signal.
