Ethernet not working

Sun Mar 23, 2014 1:01 pm

Hello,

I've a Raspberry Pi Model B Rev. 2. Which currently has Xbian installed.
The FDX, LINK and 100 leds indicate that I have an Internet connection, but when I go to System Info in Xbian it says that there is no cable connected or shows that the cable is connected but has no Internet Connection (This also occurs in OpenElec). The cable works fine, I tested it with my Samsung SmartTV, Xbox 360 and two laptops.
I have an 2A Power supplier (if thats the right word). So it can't be lack of power.

Many thanks in advance!

in principle, the fact that the ethernet LEDs light up is both proof that the ethernet chip (LAN9512) is working, and that there is a working cable connection. Furthermore the fact that you have USB connectivity also indicates that the LAN9512 chip is working, and communicates with the SoC.

What network connectivity are you using i.e. direct to broadband modem or router??

Has ethernet worked in the past or is this a first install?

Have you checked the cable?
Do you get green lights at both ends?
