Login is CaSe SeNsItIvE.

Pi <> pi <> PI
raspberry <> Raspberry <> RASPBERRY

the password doesn't display.
the keyboard defaults to QWERTY so in Germany you'll get a problem.

Try a different keyboard.

Try typing the password in the id field (just as a test so you can see what comes out).

Check the docs for the os you're running. Is it pi/raspberry or root/root or root/raspberry or something else for id/password.

Just to confirm are you trying to login with Raspbian??

The username is: pi the password is: raspberry (letters are all lowercase, also passwords are never echoed on the screen as a security feature)

If you still cannot login then try typing raspberry as the username - do the letters coming out correctly??

How can a different keyboard solve this problem?

I'm asking because I am experiencing the same trouble: I downloaded this [1] image and I can't login in, neither on terminal, nor via ssh. I know that a qwerty keyboard is expected, so I tried "raspberry" as well as "raspberrz" as password.

When I type letters the all come out correct: I can type "raspberry" (typing z instead of y) as user name and I see that word on the console. So I would expect the letters also to come out correctly when I type in the password.

So what can I do? I do not own a second keyboard. If I really need to try another keyboard, I need to borrow one. Is there any chance I could edit some files on the sd-card, before booting the raspberry?
