How to get Pi working again after improper shutdown?

Sat Jan 04, 2014 11:26 pm

So I accidentally pulled the plug on the Pi and now it is having issues booting.
I had this happen once before and someone who knew what he was doing did some diskchecking and after he was done it worked again.
How do I go through that process to get the SD card to boot up again without having to rewrite the operating system onto it again?

I have had no luck repairing the FAT partition. The ext4 partion can be fsck'ed and repaired if you mount it on another linux system.

The best thing is to re-image the card and make a back up image of it once it is working again.

To repair the FAT partition, pull the card, mount it in a Windows systems and checkdisk it on there.

Or rebuild dosfstools http://www.raspberrypi.org/forum/viewto ... 28&t=64843
