No keyboard, is it safe to turn off in raspi-config?

Thu Jan 02, 2014 1:11 pm

I turned on my pi for the first time today, however I realised my keyboard isn't a USB one, so I can't use. So it booted into raspbian and now i'm stuck on raspi-config. My mouse does nothing and the only way I can get out is with a keyboard, which I don't have. The only LED is the red PWR one, is it safe to 'hard kill' it (unplug the power supply)? I've heard that this is not a good idea, especially on first boot. Is there any other way I can safely shut it down? For now i'm leaving it plugged in until I get a USB keyboard (or PS/2 adapter).
Or is there an app I can put on my (android) phone to use it as a wired keyboard?
Thanks in advance.

Just unplug it, the chance that it will break something is very slim.

if you have a PC you can remote into it
otherwise leave it switched on
you can pull the plug it [the SD card] will probably survive 99% of the time anyway [YMMV]
