A strange sound issue

Tue Dec 31, 2013 1:00 am

Hi
New to pi and xmbc.
Installed rasbmc after a guide and everything works with streaming movies over network.
But the sound is horrible over hdmi. If I switch to my ordinary cable tv programs on another hdmi port with the pi still running, it has the same bad sound.
Squeeky and noisy and really bad, glitchy type sound.
If i use headphones in the other sound port it sound normal.

Tried alot of different movies and format, but since the sound is also on the regular tv programs i doubt its a setting? or?
Cant find anyhing about this problem anywhere.

About to give up

plz help

check default audio playback settings if amplification is set to high it can damage the inbuilt speakers to check when playing back a film in xbmc on thr righthand side theres a speaker icon click it it brings up audio settings audio volume audio amplification theres also analog and stereo out put and audio offset play with them until it sounds right then click on default for all videos to save the new settings it sorted my audio issues out
