Hi all im new to this forum and new to the pi I haven't had long so dont no an awful lot about it I came to boot last night and seem to get an error message:

*** error in mount_storage: mount common:l: could not mount/dev/mmcb1kop2***

There may be a little more as looks sort of some is missing from the corner of the tv I have a pik and can upload. Haven't tried any options off fixing as not sire what it is just rebooted and got the same message this morning. Any info would be great.

Seems like you corrupted something on the SD-card. Quickest fix is probably to format the card with the card formatter on the download page, don't forget to do a full format, then put NOOBS on it.

Only requirement is that it must be 4GB (at least) and the whole card formatted as a single 4GB FAT partition before you start.

sounds a bit expensive for an 8GB card, and you have no guarantee that the image on it isn't so outdated it won't work on you PI!

Installing NOOBS is actually very simple, its completely documented with pictures here: http://www.cpmspectrepi.webspace.virgin ... lV132.html

Good job you've reached a command prompt.

type whoami and press [enter]
pi@raspberrypi ~ # whoami
pi
pi@raspberrypi ~ #

type startx and press [enter] to see if something magic happens (you'll need your mouse after that).
