RTL8188EUS cannot setup access point

Hi

I'm having troubles getting my TL-WN725N v2 setup as an access point.

I have downloaded and compiled the modified hostapd from Realtek for chipset RTL8188CUS (could not find any version for the RTL8188EUS chipset) from http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/dow ... loads=true and modified the hostapd.conf as follows:

When scanning for wireless networks from other devices the RPiAP does not appear. Anyone got any clues as to why this is not working? I guess the lines ioctl[RTL_IOCTL_HOSTAPD]: Operation not supported has something to do with it? :)

Same here, guess the root cause is:

But no idea what cause this...
the Driver or the hostapd, but as this hostapd
with the old driver I assume the driver.....

Hi,
I have exactly the same problem as poogle and I find no solution on the forum, any idea?
I use the driver rtl8188eu drivers for 03.10.25 + provided by MrEngman

The dongle works well as a client but I can not run in AP

You may need to update your hostapd (assuming the EUS chipset supports soft AP like the CUS chipset does) - see here:

Hi, thanks for your reply.
I tried with the updated hostapd but it doesn´t work either. I get exactly the same error message :(

Then it may well be that the RTL8188EUS chipset doesn't support soft AP. Certainly the CUS version does as Dave Conroy's blog describes. See if you can find the spec. of the chipset and see if it mentions soft AP support.
