Can't boot - green led blinks 4 times

Wed Nov 06, 2013 9:22 pm

Out of nowhere my pi stopped booting. The red led lights up, then a long flash of the green led and then a cycle of 4 green blinks. HDMI screen shows nothing. I tried this with 3 different SD cards, one of them brand new, flashed with vanilla. I tried this with both "2013-09-25-wheezy-raspbian" and "raspbmc-2013-10-02.img". When I try it with NOOBS I get just a constant red and green lights, no blinking and no other activity (nothing on HDMI)

this page (http://elinux.org/R-Pi_Troubleshooting# ... ic_pattern)
says that 4 blinks mean "start.elf not launched" and that "If start.elf won't launch, it may be corrupt." but the images I'm using seems fine. I've also tried replacing start.elf with the one from github with the same result.

Multimeter between tp1 and tp2 shows 4.91V
tried setting hdmi_safe=1 in config.txt but nothing changed.

Have I bricked my pi? what else can I try?

I am facing similar problem.

My Raspbian image downloaded from Downloads section works fine.
But my CUSTOM BUILDROOT-Image failed to start and blinks 4 times when loaded using noobs.
Please help me.
