I/O error and Logitech USB Optical Mouse error

Fri Oct 11, 2013 7:30 am

My R-Pi was OK when i first start up but after i did the initial configuration and reboot, all the I/O errors just appear endlessly. :o

The keyboard and mouse works fine though but i keep seeing

Code: Select all

 input: Logitech USB Optical mouse as /devices/platform/bcm2708_usb/usb1/1-1/1-1.2/1-1.2:1.0/input/input X
although I am using Acer keyboard and Acer mouse. It keeps running for different inputs X. How long must I wait?

Is it because I expanded filesystem? (i am using 16Gb SD card).

Also I see error message like the following when doing the configuration.

Code: Select all

perl: warning: Setting locale failed.
perl: warning: Please check that your locale settings:
    LANGUAGE = (unset),
    LC_ALL = (unset),
    LC_CTYPE = "UTF-8",
    LANG = "en_GB.UTF-8"
    are supported and installed on your system.
perl: warning: Falling back to the standard locale ("C").
locale: Cannot set LC_CTYPE to default locale: No such file or directory
locale: Cannot set LC_ALL to default locale: No such file or directory

Hmm, I've never seen those errors before. It looks like it's complaining about the locale setting you're using.
You might want to run this command and set it again.

Code: Select all

sudo raspi-config
Go to Internationalisation Options and set it there. The Pi will then reboot.

Also... do you still get these erros with say just the keyboard or just the mouse? I am wondering if this could also be a power consumption issue. The Pi can only supply a certain amount of current to USB devices and if they don’t get the power they need weird behaviour starts occurring.

You can check that out by going through this procedure;

Hello! Thank you for your reply. There is no way that I can fix the locale problem now because R-Pi keep stuck at the booting part. :( I have a screenshot of it but i can't seem to attach it here. :/

Code: Select all

 Information: The image file you tried to attach is invalid.

the Pi works fine at first. But after I'm done with all the configuration and do a reboot, it kept on loading forever...
