Hi there, I wonder if this is your keyboard locale settings?
If you try " do you get an @ instead?

Run this command

Code: Select all

sudo raspi-config
Locate the option to change your locale settings and choose the country you're in, that should fix it.

It's amazing how many responders (myself included) don't always read the question properly.

You just pull out power ?
Don't shutdown RPi proper? (shutdown -h now commando or other way).
Sudden power off can corrupt blocks on SD card, on most cases, need to reimage.
Write OS image again, and see if works.

Before, that you see on screen?
A normal boot process and a login prompt at end?

With reference to turning the pi off, I have found that my best way to turn it off is with my galaxy note or smart phone, download RasPi check, it checks the temp all associated installs and you can reboot or power down, I find it brilliant.

To confirm was the fix a rewrite of the SD card, or a rewrite of the raspi-config settings?
