I've tried two different SD cards and one SDHC card. All three give shed loads of -110 errors while starting up; I saw -84 errors from the second SD card too.
Can anyone recommend an SD or SDHC card that doesn't give these errors?
Last night I ran Debian with the GUI (runlevel 5). It's dog slow. (I normally use ARM processors, with RISC OS, so I'm not comparing with x86.) Is it possible that the RPi is being slowed down by these errors while accessing swap?

Re: SD cards
Please post the makes, classes and sizes of the falling sdcards.
I recommend Sandisk Ultra, class 4 sdcards. 2G/4G/8G all work well for me.

There's a good thread about this at http://www.raspberrypi.org/for.....38;ret=all but basically the SanDisk Ultra Class4 and Class6 appear to be the best. I intend to do some proper testing when I get mine next month

By the way, is there any chance the below article is true? If so it could certainly make finding a "known good" card difficult.

It may be true but the solution is simple. Always buy from a known, reputable dealer and never off eBay, Craigslist, etc. If the price of the card seems too cheap, there"s usually a reason why
