Issues when playing music from playlist

Hello

I use the raspberry pi to play playlists which contain about 400 to 500 songs. The songs are stored in ogg format.

When i play the playlist, i get a crackling sound when the one song finishes playing and before the second song starts to play. I only get this problem if i play it on a simple home music system. When i play it through a professional sound system with amplifiers etc. i do not get this sound.

The other problem i have is that there is a delay of 5 seconds between the time the song finishes till the time the next song plays (on the home music system) and 8 seconds delay on the professional sound system.

Any suggestions?

The crackling sound issue has been "solved" about a month ago.
Are you using a preloaded card ?

Code: Select all

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get upgrade
should fix it anyway.

I am using software that we designed.

I just ordered a number of raspberry pis. I used the SD card i had and mirrored it. When i used it on the new raspberry pi i still had the crackling sound. GHANS i have not tried what you suggested. I will give it a try and see if it fixes it.

I also have a few delayes when playing the songs. On a normal home hi-fi i have a delay of 8 seconds. On a commercial music system (with amplifiers etc.) i also get 8 seconds delay. If i play it through the TV i get a 5 second delay. Any suggestions?

Regards,
Elena
