Streaming Raspberry Pi audio through Icecast

Hello everyone,

I want to stream the audio that my Raspberry Pi "hears" through an icecast server (with darkice).

I've already installed both icecast and darkice, and it works to stream when connecting a microphone.

But what I really want to stream is the audio that you hear on the audio-out, so the "stereo mix" (as it would be called in Windows) of the raspberry.

For example. I have an external USB radio stick which can play FM radio.

This is the command I use to tune into a frequency and listen to it:
rtl_fm -f 105.1e6 -W -s 200000 -r 48000 - | aplay -r 48k -f S16_LE

Now I want to stream that audio through darkice/icecast.

What would be the most reliable way to achieve this?

Thanks in advance!

What about:
sudo rtl_fm -W -f 99.9M -r 22000 | lame -r -s 22.0 -m m - - | ezstream -c ./ezstream.xml

if you need a quick ezstream.xml:
