I juist ran in to the same problem. Will any microsd adapter solve this (because they are stronger)? That's what I seem to understand from most of the posts here. :?:

If you've seen my post then you'll know that no memory card is safe not even Micro SD adapters although the Micro SD card inside would be unaffected.

I feared as much... But at least yours lasted for 2 years. Mine is bend after a mere 4-5 months. I think I might try the suggestion of the link explaining how to 'repair' the sd card slot, adding what I hope is sufficient support for preventing the sd cards to bend.

I also took a look at the adafruit adapter (http://www.adafruit.com/products/966), which is thicker and therefore probably stronger which would hopefully make it last longer, but they don't sell it anywhere near here (Belgium) which means I'd have to pay $25 to get a $6 sd card adapter...

Hi there,

I know it's no the perfect solution but we needed a quick solution to the bending problem. You only need the stick you use for stiring your vending machine coffe. Here's a picture of what we've done and all bent SD trascend cards started booting up again:

But remember that it's always better to have the money back because of a faulty product.

Hope this helps!

1 Dollar fix: http://raspberrypihelp.net/tutorials/56 ... ed-sd-card
Switch from SD to micro SD and use this 1 dollar adapter :)

I did the credit card + superglue trick which worked perfectly, thanks for that tip. I doubled my card in the middle so it presses evenly on the entire back of the sd card, and used Loctite super attack (3 second cyanoacrylate glue). I just bought a B+ to be the new living room retrogamer throwaround setup, with the micro slot and four usb:s that will be awesome; less risk of card damage and less cable salad due to no more external usb hub needed (combined wireless mouse&kbd, wlan stick and two joysticks fits perfectly in four jacks)
