ADHOC & Raspbian

In tutorial, lot of people said that the Edimax EW-7811Un 150m/s is ad-hoc compliant.
So I bought it and try to create an adhoc.

I do not want a dhcp server because i want to fix IP on my wifi device clients

... and, It seems that nothing is working:

In my interface:
iface wlan0 inet static

sudo apt-get install hostapd

In hostapd:

In hostapd.conf

In systcl.conf:

sudo iptables -t nat -A POSTROUTING -o eth0 -j MASQUERADE
sudo iptables -A FORWARD -i eth0 -o wlan0 -m state --state RELATED,ESTABLISHED -j ACCEPT
sudo iptables -A FORWARD -i wlan0 -o eth0 -j ACCEPT

sudo service hostapd start ---> Failed

--> I suspect that there is a bug on hostpad

What do you think?

Thanks for your help

I believe this uses the realtek 8192CU chipset.
The default drivers in Raspbian don't support the nl80211 driver for this chipset.
Have a search around, and there is a thread that can get this chipset working with nl80211 which hostapd requires.

There was a post since Christmas which had the nl80211 driver listed..

They had to reconfigure to point the default Chipset Driver
