I note you are tying to mount your drive on /media . I've not got access to a PI right now, but on a.n.other linux box mount says:
tmpfs on /media type tmpfs (rw,nosuid,nodev,noexec,relatime,rootcontext=system_u:object_r:mnt_t:s0,seclabel,mode=755)
This is where removable media get automounted when you insert them.
I would try mounting your device on /mnt and see if that works during boot.
