Recently I bought a pi0w and when I use a basic pi0w made OS it will reach temperatures of up to 140°F on the CPU. This definitely cannot be normal and I'd like to hear if anyone else has had the same problem of severe overheating?
Thanks, Chris

Re: Pi0W reaching 140°F
That's only 60centigrade, so well within normal operating boundaries. The device will throttle if it hits 85C, which is very unlikely on a Pi0.
Pi's don't overheat, they get hot, but the firmware will ensure they don't overheat, by slowing down the CPU's.

Also use:
if it returns anything other than 0x0 its likely throttled (now, or since the last boot) due to over temperature or under voltage.
As JamesH said, very unlikely on a Pi Zero.
Code: Select all
vcgencmd get_throttled
