Just updated and vlc is gone?

I just did update and there were a lot of vlc related libraries and vlc is nowhere to be found now. I know there are some issues with this but how do I get it back in some version or condition?

Try update and full-upgrade again, if it doesn't pick it up

The new update was faulty last night, then they fixed it (or rolled it back) shortly before I replied. i should have explained but I had just spotted another problem at this end. I guess there weren't many of us caught out in the short window when it was awry.
