Audio after 5/28/20 update

Fri May 29, 2020 12:36 am

This is about the only persistent problem I have had with my Pi4, which I use as a daily driver. The audio stopped working (again) after today's update. It still works if I use VLC and manually change the audio, so it is not a hardware issue. The only hardware oddity is that it is a DVI monitor using a HDMI-DVI converter. The converter is the same one I have been using since September(?, since I got the Pi4).

I have tried resetting with raspi-config to headphones and reboot, no go.
I have tried the gui under audio icon, it boots to analog, no go.
I have tried sudo amixer cset numid=3 1, no go (with and without reboot).

dtoverlay=vc4-fkms-v3d
max_framebuffers=2
gpu_mem=512
dtoverlay=disable-wifi
dtoverlay=disable-bt
enable_uart=0
dtparam=audio=on

Any bets what is off this time?
Thanks.

pcm.output {
type hw
card 1
}

ctl.!default {
type hw
card 1
}

Which is how I THINK it is supposed to be set for headphones.

There is a section in today's Blog regard ALSA sound configuration:

As far as I can tell the blog is just repeating the same information.
