I've read the stuff about the pi not being able to power external USB drives, to use a powered hub etc. My problem is I've got a PopcornHour A110 and I'm trying to connect that via its slave-USB connection to the pi so I can access the drive inside it. The PCH is powered by a plug, and it spins up and powers the HDD inside it.
When I plug it in to the USB port on the pi, nothing is shown in fdisk -l, or in sudo mount or anything.
I've tried connecting it before powering on, connecting after power on, reboot PCH while its plugged in, nothing kicks it in, yet the drive is spinning.
The PCH uses linux FS so I'd assume it shouldn't be looking for any driver or software to be able to read the drive.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
