Boxy-svg

Tue May 12, 2020 7:56 pm

Installing:
sudo snap install boxy-svg
Result:
error: snap "boxy-svg" is not available on stable for this architecture (armhf)
but exists on other architectures (amd64).

I followed the instructions on: https://snapcraft.io/install/boxy-svg/debian
What is the problem and is there a solution?
Greetings, Jacad

Hello Jacad
I actually run Boxy-SVG on my Raspberry Pi. :) But not using the snap.

Raspberry Pies have a ARM CPU. Unfortunately, Boxy SVG's snap is only available for AMD64 CPUs.

How I got around that: not using the snap, but instead the Chrome App.
A while back I actually contacted Jarek (the author) and asked if he could make an ARM build for Raspberry Pies. Unfortunately he said he wouldn't be willing to do it.
I hope that changes soon, since Chrome Apps are being discontinued by June 2020. :(

Thank you.
I was trying to use a svg-file in node-red. After searching for another way than Boxy-svg to build an svg, I found a node-red-contrib-ui-svg.
A simple but for the moment a perfect svg-editor.

Not trying to necro the topic, but...

Introducing Pi-Apps: the simple Raspberry Pi App store for all programs not available on the repositories.
Today, with the help of a brilliant developer friend, I got Boxy SVG running natively on Raspberry Pi and have added it to Pi-Apps.
Pi-Apps is a simple RPi app store I coded up in bash in two weeks. It's lightweight and very easy to use.
