Unwanted autoboot OpenBox

I'm using Raspbian for a few days on Raspberry Pi 4 4GB, I installed some software to program python and I updated the packages, I did some tests with code-oss and with the remote terminal in ssh, I shutdown and since I rebooted I can only see a black screen and my cursor, I can right click and open terminal, and pressing exit in menu bar I saw 'Do you want to quit Openbox?' (Obviously in English may be different bcs I'm translating from Italian), I don't know what is It, but I really think that It shoudn't boot automatically, and if I quit It, login page appear with the background, but nothing change, no icon bar, no start icon, only cursor. If someone knows how to help me, thank you very much!

Did you change autostart or remove pcmanfm (Filemanager)?

Code: Select all

/etc/xdg/lxsession/LXDE-pi/autostart
autostart must contain these 2 lines:

Code: Select all

@lxpanel --profile LXDE-pi
@pcmanfm --desktop --profile LXDE-pi

I didn't remove anything, but just before pcmanfm had some problems and I had to start it from terminal with

Code: Select all

pcmanfm ./
After that the software seemed fixed. I checked and in LXDE-pi there is only sshpwd.sh file. Is It normal, am I doing something wrong? I'm a few noob with Linux, sorry.

Nothing terrible happened, just your window manager “flew”
Linux has an extremely strange mechanism for working with window managers, which can be called this: Mayan Indians tried to build a skyscraper.
This means that xorg starts first, then some other event handler, another “window manager” above it, and it also has applets and widgets, and so on, until your computer stops responding due to overloading tasks =)
Run the raspi-config utility and change the values. Although you may need to work with console programs.

PS pcmanfm was written by an inexperienced Chinese programmer and occasionally caused extremely unpleasant problems (see Google), which I personally, with some regret, refused the LXDE shell. But I'm tired of struggling with the glitches of Chinese programmers. And pcmanfm cannot be removed if you use the default shell. Now I use Awesome and I don’t know any problems with openbox = _) pcmanfm I threw in the trash.

Not clear... Is your normal desktop working now?

There should be 3 files:

Code: Select all

pi@RPi4B4G:/etc/xdg/lxsession/LXDE-pi $ ls
autostart  desktop.conf  sshpwd.sh
The desktop.conf is probably not needed.
