I have had this raspberry pi for about 2 or 3 years now and used it a ton but put it away and forgot about it, I recently tried to use it again and when I plugged it into my CanaKit 5v 2.5A power supply the status led turned red. I have done a ton of troubleshooting such as making sure there are no corroded solder points and swapped my micro sd and wiped it too and nothing seems to work. I have the proper power supply yet however it still gives the red status light what is the issue here?
The red PoWeR led should always be on if power is being correctly supplied. Were it to dim or flash that's an indication of "low-voltage" (<4.65V) . Since you're
not seeing that your CanaKit 5v 2.5A power supply appears to be still O.K. However you don't say what the green ACTivity led is showing. If it never flashes then your uSDHC card is not being read and no O.S. is being loaded etc. Whilst you say that you "swapped" and "wiped" the uSDHC card did you also write a new O.S. image (or an up to date copy of NOOBS) to that card - a Pi will not boot w/o an O.S. on the card? If you didn't (or even if you did) perhaps try that now using the new Imaging Tool:

Still running Raspbian Jessie or Stretch on some older Pi's (an A, B1, 2xB2, B+, P2B, 3xP0, P0W, 2xP3A+, P3B+, P3B, B+, and a A+) but Buster on the P4B's. See: https://www.cpmspectrepi.uk/raspberry_pi/raspiidx.htm
