My wifi network has a two word name, words separated by a space. Is that allowed in Raspian or any other flavors? I can connect with ethernet but not wifi. This is on both Pis; model 3 and model 4

There's no standards. I avoid any character that isn't A to Z, a to z, 0 to 9 and + - in my WiFi Service Set ID. The only positively disallowed chars are quotes and apostrophes.

I just tried connecting my Pi 3B to a couple of different networks with spaces in the names.

Our guest network "IT Hertz when I.P." was fine.
I also successfully connected to my phone's hotspot "OnePlus Mobile (1025)"

So spaces, parenthesis and periods are fine. I've connected to networks with hyphens in the SSID as well.

Again, that was on a 3B with 2.4GHz WiFi and Raspbian Buster.
