Pi cannot establis first daily https connection

Running my pi with arch.

This strange behaviour is reliably observed:

the first https connection of the day fails.
Then it works.
This is true for a python script running on a timer or pacman updating the database.

error: failed retrieving file 'core.db' from mirror.archlinuxarm.org : Could not resolve host: mirror.archlinuxarm.org

Rerun the same immediately after and it works.

Any idea?

The error suggests a DNS problem , are you sure you have a network connection when you attempt the file retrieval ?

Are you getting this error after the first boot
How is the update being run
Which OS are you running
