Cannot currently show the dekstop while installing pythong

I followed the steps at this url https://installvirtual.com/how-to-insta ... mment-4437 but after "sudo ./configure --enable-optimizations" step, I rebooted mistakenly and now i cant login to desktop from vnc and not even from using hdmi. everytime i do it says “Cannot currently show the dekstop” and bring the login panel again although password is correct and no wrong password message shows up? how to fix that please?

That documentation appears to be from a third party unrelated to Raspberry Pi.



Could it simply be that you need to set a non-default display resolution, which you can do using the raspi-config tool via an SSH interactive terminal session?

Firstly, Thanks for the welcome. I actually accessed from ssh and changed the default resolution but didn't work. I always try every possible-logical solutions before posting at any forums and this was most solution for my issue but unfortunately didn't work for me. btw when i use df -h to see the free space it gives me 100% on root. this might be the problem?

It is certainly a problem that needs to be solved before you can make any sensible use of your Raspbian/RPi system.



Also, do you really need a later version of Python3 than the v3.7.3 release shipped with Debian Buster, and hence with Raspbian?

I didn't have 3.7.3 but 3.5.3 so i had to upgrade to a newer one for some libs to work. but now i am stuck even apt-get update giving me errors

It looks like a space issue. I never had all of these Raspbian errors. Don't you think so? is it possible to remove the 3.5.3 completely in clean way?

Also since last June Raspbian Buster has been the supported Operating System:

So it may be worth grabbing a new SD Card and starting with Buster !

Agreed. As previously discussed.


So: obsolete version of Python3; superceded Raspbian Operating System; no space on root filesystem.


I too would solve all 3 with a fresh installation of the current Raspbian Buster Operating System.
