Power Supply Advice.

Thu Oct 31, 2019 6:10 pm

Hi there!
I have a Pi4 with 4 GB and sometimes i get low voltage warnings with my current power supply, so i need a new one...

The power supply is a Generic Qualcomm 3.0 Quick Charge GA-QC810 and output is: 5v-3000mA, 9v-2000mA and 12v-1500mA

The warning show up when the power supply is cold and when i OC the Pi only 100 MHz. Also i have attached an 1TB USB 3.0 HDD that eat up to 1A. and a 60mm fan over pasive Armor case...

So i think the new power supply should be up to 3500mA or more (what is the max current that Pi4 can handle?), also other requirements are: Lowest price possible, Stable output, Cold operation and secure to run 24/7 and the more important one!, should be available in AliExpress.

Thanks! and sorry for my bad English.

This is what Raspberry Pi themselves recommend -

Will probably not be available via AliExpress.

Phone chargers are not power supplies. Phones only require a little over 4.2V to charge. Because of that, many phone chargers have poor voltage regulation and will not maintain a stable 5V under load.

Get the official Raspberry Pi 5.1V/3.0A USB-C power supply.
My mind is like a browser. 27 tabs are open, 9 aren't responding,
lots of pop-ups...and where is that annoying music coming from?

Can the official one handle the 1 Amp. USB HDD and OC? also my Pi is at 100% CPU usage almost all day.

You have a link to the specification for the supply that 2 people have mentioned.

Raspberry Pi have published maximum and typical current requirements for their boards. https://www.raspberrypi.org/documentati ... /#pi-power

You know the details for your own add-ons.

Time to do the arithmetic?
