Pi 4b not setting my acer monitor at correct resolution

Fri Oct 11, 2019 8:47 pm

Hi all, probably a newbie question but I've bought an acer monitor for my pi 4 and it boasts a max resolution of 1920 x 1080 - but both the monitor and os don't let me change to this from a default of 1080 x 788. Also the monitor is widescreen and despite setting screen config to 1 x 16 it still looks stretched. Am I missing something really obvious. The monitor is budget so maybe it doesnt really do 1920 x 1080 in a normal environment?

Have you tried this?

Open a terminal:
sudo raspi-config > Advanced options > Resolution > select mode 82
save,exit and reboot.

On the desktop:
Applications menu > Preferences > Screen configuration > Configure > Screens > HDMI-1 > Resolution > 1920x1080 > Configure > Apply > OK
