Trying to increase VNC Viewer resolution on Rpi4

Fri Aug 23, 2019 6:40 pm

I'm trying get something larger than the default resolution for my Rpi4 in VNC Viewer (1024x768).

So far, I've installed the desktop version of Raspbian. SSH and VNC Viewer seem to work fine. I'm trying set things according to this:
https://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/view ... n#p1512413
https://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/view ... 6&t=246641

I went into config.txt and changed the hdmi_mode to 82 (hdmi_group already set to 2). In raspi-config, I see '82' as an option, but setting that and rebooting does not change the VNC Viewer resolution.

I tried to run the Screen Configuration in the GUI, but nothing happens when I run. Really just not familiar with all this yet.

I suspect that by "default resolution for my Rpi4 in VNC Viewer" you really mean the VNC Server running on the P4B. If you want a different resolution to that used (detected) for a connected display it's probably better/easier to use the server's "virtual mode" - FWIW some examples here:
http://www.cpmspectrepi.uk/raspberry_pi ... uster.html (you will need to SSH in to start the server in that mode).
Trev.
Still running Raspbian Jessie on some older Pi's (an A, B1, B2, B+, P2B, 3xP0, P0W) but Stretch on my 2xP3A+, P3B+, P3B, B+, A+ and a B2. See: https://www.cpmspectrepi.uk/raspberry_pi/raspiidx.htm

Perfect! That works nicely. Thanks very much.
