I have the most updated Raspbian Buster upgraded with dist-upgrade, and have rebooted. I use two monitors with Raspberry Pi 4 Model B 4GB RAM, and GL (Fake KMS) desktop driver. The videos in Chromium used to work with earlier versions of Buster except that they didn't always work on Twitter. Now the videos doesn't work in e.g. YouTube and IMDB.
Here is an example of a video that does work: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gDeAB31eNdk

Sometimes the video shows, but is one color and striped (and perhaps magnified).
I have tried with h264ify both enabled and disabled, but no difference.
On Raspberry Pi 4, do you need h264ify? or does it not improve anything on Pi 4?
Could someone please confirm if you also have this problem, or does this work for you?
I face both issue with video on Chromium browser and VLC. This happened right after today's update (including the 5.4 kernel).calindbl wrote: ↑Wed Apr 29, 2020 2:54 pmI had these issues, too, and also with VLC player. If you have overclocked the cpu and gpu in your pi, try lowering the gpu frequency. I had mine set at 600 mhz and lowered it to 550 and all my videos started working. I did not have to allocate additional gpu memory. Hope this helps.
now in chromium youtube video tearing...bjtheone wrote: ↑Sun Aug 09, 2020 2:46 pmCould you post a link for a "free movie" on YouTube that does not play correctly for you. Everything I have watched plays correctly. Fullscreen YouTube, Netflix, Disney + all work just fine....
I certainly encountered the "colour bar" messed up display right after upgrading my 4B 8GB. However, an rpi-update to a newer kernel and a second reboot resolved it and I have had no further video issues.
