Hello, sorry if this is a common issue but I couldnt find info on this particular type of boot issue.
I have a Pi 3 B+
I am trying to run Puppy (Bionic) linux 32 bit. I have written the ISO to my SD card (Samsung Evo plus 32Gig) and when I try to boot the Pi I just get a steady red led.
The SD boots fine on other devices.
I tried overwriting the SD card with Raspian and the Pi booted ok (although it did crash when trying to do an update).

Is it a case that this OS just wont run on the Pi for some reason and if so how do I tell which will/wont work?
Does the Pi just need a successful update first? (tbh I think it was just updating the browser or something when it crashed rather than any important system files)
I'v just checked my power supply - I was using a official samsung brick with an ankur cable so I was confident but on inspection the outlput is only 2 amps so will get a new one BUT why would booting one OS require more power than another? (Raspian boots ok)
