Raspberry Pi Wifi turns off and not found (BusterP

Thu Jul 18, 2019 11:43 am

Hello, after recently upgrading from stretch to buster on my Pi 3B+, the wifi drops out and "no wireless interfaces found" appears after 40000 seconds or so. My dmesg log shows this:

Code: Select all

[46674.827497] hub 1-1.1.2:1.0: USB hub found

Can someone reproduce this problem? I did not have this on Raspbian stretch. I am using a 3B+ with a 32GB sd card paired with OS on a 1TB external HDD seagate drive.

Hello, after recently upgrading from stretch to buster on my Pi 3B+
Did you start with a clean Buster install, or upgrade Stretch to Buster?
My mind is like a browser. 27 tabs are open, 9 aren't responding,
lots of pop-ups...and where is that annoying music coming from?

Neither. That's Stretch with the latest rpi-update kernel. So the temporary fix on Buster is

sudo apt install rpi-update
# not installed by default to discourage misuse
sudo rpi-update f8060224e53e26cdaea5b9f6f010ac8c3692e2ea
sudo purge rpi-update
# because you don't need it normally

Is the rpi-update stable or should I just wait for a normal update?
