Installing drivers for WiFi antenna

Thu Jul 11, 2019 3:11 pm

Hello everyone,
even though I've been having my RPi model B+ for a few years this is my first post on the forum.
I bought this WiFi antenna
https://www.amazon.it/gp/product/B07BXM ... UTF8&psc=1
for my Windows 10 Laptop and it works fine; on the package it says it is compatible with Linux and so I tried using it with my RPi with Raspbian.
When I plug it in, the small light on the antenna doesn't even turn on and the RPi is not able to recognise it.
I checked on the web site of the producer and I found this drivers package
http://www.edimax.us/download/drivers/L ... .0.2.4.zip
but I don't know how to install it, I tried by making the .sh files executable but i always get some kind of error.

Can anyone point me in the right direction to solve this problem?

Thank you very much for your help

To provide better answers we would need to know exact chip model in that wifi adapter.

- Boot Pi without the adapter connected.
- then plug in the adapter.
- then run the following commands in a terminal and post the result here:

Code: Select all

lsusb
dmesg | tail
Also good for us to know which version of Raspbian you have installed in your Pi.

Linux compatibility often only refers to linux installed on x86 compatible h/w, and may not be suitable for arm based architecture.

however using the prefix of the driver download file you linked to for a google search i did find this:
https://edimax.freshdesk.com/support/so ... spberry-pi

if applicable or any help??
