Pi freezing while installing OS

I just got a new Raspberry Pi 3 B, but I can't get it set up because every time I try to install the OS it ends up freezing. First I tried downloading Raspbian with the Pi using noobs lite, and it downloaded but said there was an error that a file was missing or corrupted, so then I tried using the full version of noobs with Raspbian included and it froze during install, so then I tried to just write the Raspbian image to my SD card and it froze while updating languages. What can I do to finally get the OS installed?

Replace the memory card.

also if you intend to run raspbian consider simply downloading raspbian and using etcher to copy the zipfile directly to the sd card. (less data to download and fewer steps)

also... how are you powering your RPi3B setup?

Possible bad or inadequate power supply and/or USB power cable.
The red power LED should be on constantly, if not then there is a power issue.

NOOBS is somewhat of an oxymoron. It's not well suited for beginners due to the additional setup requirements and more complicated use.

In my personal opinion, NOOBS should not be offered as recommended on the downloads page.

Try just downloading Raspbian and use etcher to install it on a different computer. It's exactly what NOOBS is doing, only easier.
