rtl8192
Re: [SOLVED] Code to execute wi-fi dongle doesnt work
There are at least 6 different rtl8192 wifi drivers, RTL8192CU, RTL8192DU, RTL8192EU, RTL8192FM, RTL8192SU, RTL8192U.
You need to be more specific in asking where to get the driver source for your wifi by specifying the full version type your wifi adapter uses as it will only work with one of them.
Specifying just RTL8192 is no use.

Re: [SOLVED] Code to execute wi-fi dongle doesnt work
It is rtl8192eu, Tenda U6
Re: [SOLVED] Code to execute wi-fi dongle doesnt work
I use the source from here:- https://github.com/Mange/rtl8192eu-linux-driver
I compile several different drivers for use with Raspbian, including the 8192eu driver, and they can be downloaded from my web site http://downloads.fars-robotics.net/wifi-drivers/
I also have a script that you can use to download and install the drivers I compile. You can download and install the script using commands
Code: Select all
sudo wget http://downloads.fars-robotics.net/wifi-drivers/install-wifi -O /usr/bin/install-wifi
sudo chmod +x /usr/bin/install-wifi
Code: Select all
sudo install-wifi -h
Code: Select all
sudo install-wifi

The wifi drivers I compile are for Raspbian OS. They will not work with OSMC.

Hi MrEngman,
I am trying to install a new Tp-Link Model:Archer-T4U, ID 2357:0115- AC1300 on Raspberry pi 2Model b v1.1, and finally found this thread thinking it will help me to finalize the installation, but it is still failing.
I followed all links suggested:
sudo wget http://downloads.fars-robotics.net/wifi ... stall-wifi -O /usr/bin/install-wifi
sudo chmod +x /usr/bin/install-wifi
sudo install-wifi
The driver is installed correctly :

Re: [SOLVED] Code to execute wi-fi dongle doesnt work
TP-LINK Archer T4U v3 - ID 2357:0115 TP-Link - works with 8822BU driver - at least for me (RPI 3B and Buster Lite). I did countless tries with the default script installing 8812au - I could see it, but no connection.
I used, reboot and it worked like a charm.
I used
Code: Select all
sudo install-wifi 8822BU

I have updated the script and removed that ID from the list of IDs supported by the 8812au driver.
You should now find the script will download the 8822bu driver if installing the driver for the T4U v3 again.

Dear Mr Engman and Cosminnn,
Thanks a lot,
It's fixed now!
I tried both drivers again( 8822bu, and 8812au), and this key is now working like a charm using both drivers!
Thanks again for this great tool and easy installation
