Operation Not Permitted

Sun May 19, 2019 5:29 pm

Hi, bit of a noob here.. Just recently got my 3b+ plus and installed the full version of rasbian..

Hooked up an external drive to it.. and for whatever reason can't rename files or edit do anything.. as if its read only...

Even tried to make a directory on the sd card where the os is on and get permission denied.

Now i managed to install plex and get that up and running...But is there some sort of login, install or change i have to make to get these permissions?

What's the filesystem format on your drive?

If it's NTFS you'll need to install ntfs-3g to get read/write access.

...in addition.... you may need to set ownership and permissions on that drive....

look for examples of

Code: Select all

chown
and

Code: Select all

chmod
there are many in the wild wild web....
"Don't come to me with 'issues' for I don't know how to deal with those
Come to me with 'problems' and I'll help you find solutions"

Some people be like:
"Help me! Am drowning! But dont you dare touch me nor come near me!"
